The Biorepository and Molecular Genetics Lab of the Childhood Cancer Survivor Study (CCSS) is located at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Biologic samples including saliva, buccal cells and blood collected from participants are sent to the Biorepository for processing, DNA extraction and storage.
The Biopathology Center of the CCSS, located at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, works with the Coordinating Center at St. Jude to retrospectively collect paraffin tumor material for the creation of an archive for future studies. This material is stored in the Pediatric Division of the National Cancer Institute's Cooperative Human Tissue Network (CHTN) in Columbus.
